General Questions
The Smart Baby Monitor connects to the home network via a network
cable (LAN), or via a wireless connection (WiFi). With iOS devices that
are connected to your home network and the Smart Baby Monitor App you
can implement a video and audio link to the Smart Baby Monitor. The
access to the Smart Baby Monitor can be protected by using a user name
and password.
Due to the bandwidth limitation of the home network, we recommend to access the Smart Baby Monitor only with up to three devices at the same time.
Yes, there is no limitation. But only the image of one smart baby monitor can be viewed at the same time.
Yes, but with limitations. With PC or Mac no sound or alarm messages can be send via the standard web-browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome. To find the Smart Baby Monitor in your network and to operate directly with the web browser, Medisana provides the following software.

Smart Baby Monitor App
Start the Apple App Store on your Apple device, and search for "medisana". Take a look also at the other Apps Medisana provides, or select directly the Smart Baby Monitor app. Press "free" and then again on the same button which now displays "Install". Now you need your Apple ID and the corresponding password. When downloading via mobile Internet additional costs may incurre. After successfully installing the app you will find the icon on the screen of your Apple device.
This is a standard feature of the Apple device, which you should be able to apply to all editable lists. Put your finger right or left on the camera icon you wish to delete. A delete button appears on the right side of the icon. Push this button to delete the SBM from the list without being asked again whether you really want to delete the app.
This setting is currently not possible. Medisana will integrate
this function in an upcoming Smart Baby Monitor app versions.
Currently, you can select and change this setting on your PC or Mac in
the web interface of the Smart Baby Monitor.
The Smart Baby Monitor detects when the baby moves or cries and
sends a message with a beep to your Apple device.

Yes, with the Smart Baby Monitor app it is possible to take a snapshot, which can be saved in your photo album and shared from there via e-mail or tweet.
Yes, if a speaker (not included in the delivery content) is
connected to the audio-out jack, one can speak via the app.
Press the microphone icon as long as you speak.

Press the Home button to return to the home screen, then start the Smart Baby Monitor app again. If the home button does not work either, reboot your iOS device by pressing the home and the power button at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
Check if your speakers are active. If necessary, make sure that
the "Mute“ on your iPhone®, iPod Touch® or iPad® is not activated.
Check the "Maximum Volume" setting on your iOS:
App Settings -> Music -> Maximum Volume
The Smart Baby Monitor
1) Screw the supplied antenna to the antenna jack on the back of
the Smart Baby Monitor.
2) Connect the network cable to your router and the Smart Baby Monitor.
3) Connect the included AC adapter.
The flashing green LED indicates that the device is in operation.
If the LED flashes every 2 seconds, the device is trying to connect to
the network.
If the device is connected to a wired network, the LED flashes 1-2
times per second.
If the LED flashes 2-3 times per second, it indicates that the device
is connected to a wireless network (WLAN, WiFi).
The MAC address for LAN and WLAN can be found in the web interface
under the navigation path Maintain -> Device Info.
If the Smart Baby Monitor with a cable to the network, the
display shows LAN MAC.
If the Smart Baby Monitor is connected via WLAN the display shows WLAN
MAC.
To focus the image turn the wheel around the lens.
Make sure that you inserted the power connector into the dedicated jack (5V DC) and not into the audio connector
Press and hold the reset button on the bottom of the Smart Baby Monitor while the power cord is connected. Hold until the green LED on the front of long flashes and turns off.
The connector is for audio output at a constant volume. It can be
used for example to connect speakers (not included in the delivery
content) if you want to use the talkback feature.

Yes, the Smart Baby Monitor detects both. If the recognition
function is activated the Smart Baby Monitor will send an alarm and a
(PUSH) message to your iOS device. See also FAQ 25
The web interface is the interface between the user (you) and the Smart Baby Monitor. The graphical user interface is displayed through a web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc.), which allows you to configure the Smart Baby Monitor or to display the video image.
WLAN
There are various sources that can interfere with the transmission
of the image:
Microwaves: Microwaves near the Smart Baby Monitor can interfere with
the wireless connection to the baby monitor.
Phones, audio and video devices on 2.4 GHz base: These devices can also
interfere with the wireless connection.
Walls: reinforced concrete of more than 15cm, can lead to noticeable
interference of the wireless connection.
If the Smart Baby Monitor is connected with cable to your home network, Wi-Fi is turned off, so that no network radiation is posed anymore.
Outside of the home network

Yes, the Smart Baby Monitor can be operated, but not configured, from outside the home network. We point out that to access via Internet or mobile internet the configuration of your router is required. Operation out of the home network may cause delays. When operating via mobile Internet, additional cost may be incurred by your network operator or the flat rate volume may be used up quickly. We also recommend to change the access rights of the Smart Baby Monitor.
Yes, up to four separate users can access it at different places.
No.
Yes, wherever WiFi is available with Internet access or a mobile Internet. Using mobile internet abroad may incur higher fees. We recommend to use a public network.
