Medisana Vitadock wins IT-Innovation Award 2012

Neuss. In line with CeBIT, Initiative Mittelstand awarded for the ninth time to the state of patron IBM the best IT-Innovations in 40 categories at an awards ceremony.

From over 2,500 submitted entries – this year’s all-time record – especially the product innovation VitaDock from Medisana convinced the over 100-members of the high-profile expert jury, and was distinguished as the winner in the category "E-Health". Ralf Lindner, chairman of Medisana AG, is pleased of this award and emphasises: "Also in future we will continue to work with utmost commitment to become one of the most innovative brands in the field of mobile-health."

Since 2004, Initiative Mittelstand honors innovative and suitable IT solutions with high added value for middle class businesses, with the IT-Innovation Award which since long has been a seal of approval in IT circles.
The VitaDock mobile health measuring modules together with the associated Vita-Dock app enable the monitoring of personal health with iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. At present four products of the innovative VitaDock series are in the market: GlucoDock – a blood glucose measuring module which for a diabetic lets tedious notes of readings and insulin units be a thing of the past due to the diary function. ThermoDock, which converts iPhone, iPad or iPod touch in an infrared thermometer. CardioDock, with which the blood pressure and pulse can be easily, fast and accurately monitored. And TargetScale, a body analysis scale with integrated target function which enables the monitoring of different weighing values.

The IT-Innovation award ceremony was carried out under the patronage of the Federal Commissioner for Information Technology of the Federal Government Cornelia Rogall-Grothe and IBM Germany.
